For CA firms and the businesses they serve

Every client's books, GST and due dates, in one calm workspace.

Clients send bills, invoices and bank statements as they happen. Your team reviews, files and bills, instead of chasing documents and re-typing them into Tally.

The problem

A typical firm runs on Tally, WhatsApp, Excel and memory.

Bills arrive in four places, due dates live in a spreadsheet, and the same invoice is typed twice. SquareBooks puts the whole month for every client in one place.

Chasing documents

Clients get one link or the app, and an automatic reminder before the due date. You see what's missing, client by client.

Typing it all again

Sales from the client's billing app and bills they photograph become entries you review. Export to Tally when you need it there.

Deadlines in someone's head

Due dates come from each client's GST, TDS and ROC details. Overdue and due-this-week are on the dashboard every morning.

For CA firms

Built around the way a CA office actually works.

One record per client: filings, books, bank, GST, notices, documents and fees. Your team sees what needs them now; partners see the whole firm.

1

Compliance calendar and task board

Every return for every client, worked out from their profile and moved by your team from To do to Partner review to Done.

  • GST, TDS, income tax, ROC and your own recurring tasks
  • Waiting on client, assigned to whom, approved by whom
  • A morning email with what's due and overdue

GST returns, with GSTR-2B matched

Each month as three steps: GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and the challan. Purchases are matched with GSTR-2B so you know what credit is safe to claim.

  • GSTR-1 JSON ready to upload on the GST portal
  • Prepared by, approved by, and the acknowledgement kept
  • The client gets the challan in their app to pay

Tally in, Tally out

Bring a client's books in from Tally's Day Book, checked row by row against Tally's trial balance before anything posts. Send vouchers back to Tally whenever you need to.

  • Sales and purchases come in as real invoices and bills
  • Ledger choices remembered for the next import
  • Exports that add up to the trial balance

Your team reviews and files

Review entries, match GSTR-2B, file, and bill your fees, with every step recorded.

Security and trust

Your clients trust you with their books. We take that seriously.

Questions

What firms ask us first

Do we have to stop using Tally?

No. Bring a client's books in from Tally, and export vouchers back to Tally whenever you need them there. Many firms will run both for a while.

Do our clients need to install an app?

Only if they want billing and stock on their phone. Clients who just send documents can use an upload link or email.

Does SquareBooks file returns on the GST portal for us?

No. SquareBooks prepares the return and the GSTR-1 JSON; your team uploads and files on the portal, then adds the acknowledgement so it's kept with the client.

Where is our data stored, and who can see it?

On servers in India. Your people see the clients you give them; a business sees its own books and who worked on them.

We use Marg or Busy, not Tally.

Imports from Marg and Busy are next on our list. Until then, opening balances and sales or purchase registers come in from Excel.

Can we take our data out?

Yes. Your firm can download a copy of all its clients' books and documents at any time, and each business can export its own.
